Next up on A Good Reed Review’s docket is this weekend’s opening of playwright Lisa Loomer’s Distracted at the City Lights Theater Company. A virtual epidemic today, Attention Deficit Disorder will be brought to the stage and explored from many points of view. Treated with humor and whimsy, this promises to be an entertaining production.
City Lights Executive Artistic Director, Lisa Mallette, will direct the production, and to add authenticity to the characterizations, real-life mother and son, Karen and Kameron DeHart will play Mama and her son Jesse. Others in the cast will include: Michael Riley, Rachel Davidman, Steve Gold, Kate McGrath, Jennifer Parsons, Mary Lou Torre, and Kristin Brownstone.
The show runs 19 May – 19 June 2011 at the City Lights Theater Company, located at: 529 South Second Street, San Jose, CA 95112. Contact the box office at: 408-295-4200 or see their website at: www.cltc.org to order tickets or to get more information.
While the first preview has already happened tonight, I’ll be at the gala opening on Saturday night, 21 May 2011. Look for my review soon.
